It isn't, though? Because the new sprites are just recolored versions of the original NES sprites, with slight additions to each color to give the idea of volume and depth, without ever bothering to expand the pixel art.
We get the backgrounds, which are certainly sharper than the PSP ones, even considering the transition from the PSP to newer systems... but provide very little ambiance by comparison, and have a lot of empty space for no apparent reason.
Then we have the UI. Must I really bring up how everything is unevenly positioned, with such miniscule text/numbers in big wide empty boxes, that hang awkwardly at the bottom without being either centered in the frame or BEING the frame itself? Because I just did.
